A Message from the Club President

 Welcome to the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise...

I am a transplant from Danielson, Ct. I have been a Rotarian for 13 years. I have found that Rotary evolved from a business club to a club whose primary goal is to service the community. The Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise is a great combinaton of business people who not only share business interest but also get together to provide important services to both the community and the world.

Our Rotary Club places a heavy emphasis on youth programs. We have worked with all Island Clubs to provide scholarships and leadership training to our high school students. In addition, we have very active Interact and Rotoract Clubs which exposes the youth to Rotary principals. We also provide dictionaries to all third graders in the area and have a program with second graders called Andy & Elmer, which teaches the children to make ethical decisions, which of course, is the backbone of Rotary itself. We are also active in renovation projects at Princess Nahienaena Elementary School. We have also been involved with Rotary International in a number of projects with the emphasis on the End Polio Now campaign. During this next year, Lahaina Sunrise Rotary plans to continue these activities and add a major program which will improve walking access in Lahaina Town. It is also the intent of the Club to continue its growth both in size and impact on the community. I believe the continued success of reaching our goals will result in our ability to achieve the Rotary International goal of "Reach Within To Embrace Humanity".
